A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and

challenges in your life

Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Helen Benson and I am a qualified and accredited counsellor / psychotherapist with over 15 years' of clinical experience providing both short and long-term therapy to adults (aged 18+). If you are having difficulties with an area of your life or feel overwhelmed and troubled by certain thoughts, feelings and emotions, then talking things through with an experienced therapist can be extremely helpful. I will work with you to explore the problems you are experiencing and together we can make sense of your difficulties in a way that can lead to fresh perspectives, insight and understanding - and ultimately helping you to gain an increased sense of coping, relating and emotional well-being.

I work with people of all genders and from all walks of life who come to me with a diverse range of problems. I am accredited by the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I work to a set of standards and ethics to provide a quality assured service.

Counselling and therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

Life brings many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them. It is not always easy to share our difficulties with family or friends and often more helpful to talk to someone outside of our every day life. I work from a designated therapy room at the rear of my home which provides a safe, comfortable and private space to shut out the external world and focus on your internal world. For many, it is a positive and powerful healing experience.

Speak in Confidence

Counselling provides a safe and private space where you can explore and express what is troubling you in confidence. My approach is one of understanding and empathy - and without judgement.

A problem shared...

Trouble with a relationship, anxiety, work stress or a bereavement - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to resolve alone. Counselling provides the space to share, explore and resolve what is troubling you.

Make more informed, positive new choices

Working together I can help you gain greater insight and understanding into the challenges you are facing, help you identify better ways to cope and move towards overcoming those difficulties to live a better quality of life
