My Approach

There are different types of counselling and some may be more suited to you than others. My own belief is that a "one size fits all" approach is unhelpful. As a Person Centred therapist, my focus is therefore about you as an individual and the unique feelings and experiences that you bring. It is about understanding and uncovering how you have been impacted by those feelings/experiences, how to make changes that are right for you and so begin a journey of self-discovery, personal learning, renewed strengths and resilience, and ultimately in personal growth and change - tailored to your needs. My approach also remains up-to-date and reflective of latest research and developments into neuroscience and the connection between mind, body and brain.

Working Together

At the heart of my practice is creating a therapeutic relationship with you based on trust, respect, empathy and compassion. Research shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is key to successful outcomes and promoting positive change. It's essential that you feel safe and connected with a therapist so that you can comfortably start to explore your difficulties knowing that what you share will be truly heard, understood and not judged.

Feel free to get in touch to see if I can help with your particular issues and difficulties. I am happy to offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to see if I can help you and to see whether you feel I am the right therapist for you.

Professional Regulation

I am fully accredited by the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their professional boundaries and ethical principles to ensure a safe, effective and high quality service.
